I think sports tape works a little better than a post it but the concept is all the same.

What wood species have you put it on? I've only applied it to beechwood. I have a fresh maple ken, but it doesn't fell like it needs it. I'm curious to hear about the coconut oil application to different woods.

@Congarranza it should behave similarly on maple. Really dense, nonporous species won't absorb it as easily, same goes for really oily species (like padauk)

The picture with the hooks is great...but gives me to much anxiety. Strings too close together like that would kill me

Do you dip the whole ken in coconut oil or do you apply it in another way, and if so, how do you apply it the other way?

Keyaki. Same light. Same location. Same camera. Same background.

Dropped two or three smallest fingertip amount of coconut oil. Rubbed.

    What I did was:
Do not dip the whole ken in. Maybe using one actual, what you would think of "waterdrop" total on whole ken. Another one drop, split between inside of all cups and bevel.

yeah @Allen Joshua Santamaria i took about a regular "toothpaste squeeze" amount on a soft rag, and applied all over. then I warmed my hands and used them to kind of smooth it out and just jammed for 30 mins

beech is meh, maple is meh. Cherry is amazing, and so is keyaki.

I've only tried those four. I'm curious about an ash ken that's oiled.
