I currently shoot my videos on an iPhone 4 and honestly the camera sucks:), looking for good camera setups that shoot good quality videos and are affordable for a 12 year old without a job. Hit me with some suggestions!

Any slayers in the area with a good setup?
Make friends with them and ask if they can shoot you doing tricks.

Cameras: Nikon D3200, GoPro Hero 3 Silver, iPhone 6 (on occasion)
    Lenses: Nikon 18-55mm and 55-200mm
Accessories: Bontend tripod (bendy), Nikon tripod (stationary)
    Programs: Sony Vegas Pro 13

Thinking about switching to premiere because I've been learning how to do things with SV plug ins that you can just already do on premiere. And because I've heard great things about it. Also thinking of switching to Canon and getting my own camera to use..

EDIT: Just went for it and bought my own camera. Super stoked about it. New specs:

Cameras: Canon EOS 60D, GoPro Hero 3 Silver, iPhone 6 (on occasion)
Lenses: EFS 18-55mm, EFS 18-135mm, EFS 55-250mm, EF 75-300mm, and an EF 50mm
Accessories: Bontend tripod (bendy), Nikon tripod (stationary), Canon Backpack
    Programs: Sony Vegas Pro 13

Super fun to read all these different setups, cameras are my JAM! I sold everything I had on eBay to buy my first camera, a Canon 60D and Sigma 24mm lens back in college and haven't looked back since.

I've owned so many different cameras over the years (photo/video is my full time profession). With tech changing all the time, I'm constantly investing in new cameras, then reselling them a year later or so to upgrade. This way they hold their value decently well and I don't loose much money on the sales.

Currently my daily shooters are the C100 Mark II, the Canon 5D Mark IV, and two Canon 5D Mark III's (and basically all the popular Canon L primes, zooms etc). Lately, I've been eyeing that Red Scarlet-W tho...hoping to sell some stuff and pick one by the end of the year (if they're even available by then)! My friend sent me some of his R3D footage to play with and it's seriously amazing. It's RAW so basically all your settings can be changed in post production, white balance, ISO, etc. It can all just be changed during the editing. The dynamic range, the resolution... #drooling

If anyone wants to geek out on all the other gear I work with, or has any questions about any of this stuff, I'm happy to help. Here's a list I copied and pasted from some of our commercial bids:

GEAR: C100 Mark II, 5D Mark IV, (2) 5D Mark III, Sony A7RII, Panasonic GH4, GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition, DJI Mavic Professional (Drone for Aerial Shots), Canon L Series Prime Lenses (35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm, 135mm), Canon L Series Zoom Lenses (6-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm), Other Lenses (Tamron 24-70, Sigma 35mm, Sigma 50mm, Canon 10-20, Canon 40mm Pancake), DJI Ronin M 3-Axis Stabilizer, Steadicam Solo, Edelkrone Slider & Action Module (for motion controlled timelapses, macro slides, product shots, etc), Edelkrone Wing Slider, Manfrotto 561HDV-1 Monopod, Professional Audio Gear, Hazer, Professional Lighting Gear (Westcott Flex Bi Color Studio Kit).

For sale if anyone's interested: Canon 16-35 L Series (v1), Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art Series (one of the sharpest 50's out there, it'll blow your mind. Even sharper than the 50 1.2 we shoot with!), DJI Ronin M.|

Programs I use: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Plural Eyes (to sync multicam/audio interviews and events)

BEST TIP: Invest in glass. Camera bodies come and go, as you upgrade you'll keep your lenses along the way. Spend your money on good lenses and they'll last a long long time...plus they hold their value fairly long as well.
