So, kwc marks the first time that I will be paying attention to a large-scale competition. That being said, anyone have any predictions on who the winners will be or any people to watch out for? Who will you be rooting for this time around? Any "dark horses" that you'll be backing?

Bonz Atron. After KWC last year he has been killing every competition he goes to, if he doesn't win he will for sure get top 3 if he puts his mind to it.

If there's a freestyle I feel like there's a hundred percent chance Bonz win however Jake Fisher did beat bondz in the Las Vegas krom takeover so I feel like he might have a chance.

I'd say bonz. Stodd is a killer. There are a lot of thrashers that could take it this year.

I have my money on Nobu from KUSA. That guys a beast. He literally selfie laced the first 10 lvls and hit 11 & 12 (I think) on IG stories. Second place is Lukas Funk for the third year in a row. Not sure if this counts but dark horse for me is Yutaro Fukushima (IG: yuudama09863). 4th place in KWC last year and he's a monster too. He was first place for prelims so we'll see how he does this year!

I have my eyes set on 5 picks (plus one wildcard):

    - Nobuyoshi Norioka
    - Soma Kanemoto
    - Yuutaro Fukushima
    - Kazuki Nagata
    - Lukas Funk
    - and Bonz Atron as my wildcard.

He is really good, but there was a lot of controversy around him handing some tricks last year afaik. From what I heard GLOKEN will be tightening up rules around hand touches this year, with strict penalties for breaking them

So many people could be contenders! Will a Japanese player finally win it this year?

Wow thanks for the heads up Alex! I wasn't aware of that since I was only watching it from online. I know @sethtosta mentioned a 200 pt penality for any hand/shirt contact. It's a lot but makes sense to tighten the rules up a little bit.

I feel like the number of elite players are growing in Japan too (and they're all super young)! I hope this is the year for them too they really surprised people when the top 4/7 were Japanese in last year's KWC (as a comparison the top 6/7 from 2015 KWC were from USA).

I think the returning champ has a pretty good shot a repeating. He ran away with it last year. Who knows, it's all about who is the best that day.

I think a Japanese player is going to take the top spot this year. What I really wonder is if it'll be a female Japanese player who wins?

Yutaro Fukushima (IG: yuudama09863) who was 4th in KWC 2016. Looks like Bryson doesn't like the dude much lol. He's crazy good but I can see why Bryson doesn't like the guy.
