how long is your string?

Two fingers and some change. I played with 3 for a while and what I found is I need to exert more effort for cup work. Lighthouses became easier after I changed from 3 to 2 and change. Things feel fluid with my setups now.

 

same with me, I like to have my string 4-5 fingers. anything under that is just way to short. I don't know how you play with only 2 fingers

 

I used to play with 2-finger length strings, but thats when I first started. Now I find myself gravitating towards longer strings, more like the 4 finger length range to help with juggles, although it affects with my spacewalks.

 

I usually rock 4 / 4.5 fingers. I like the extra room for juggles, lighty flips, and even whirlwind type tricks. Also I've gotten used to a longer string so I feel my muscle memory might be thrown off by using a shorter string...

I like to keep my string lengths now from 7-9 finger lengths from base cup definitely easier for juggles and just more room in general for your tricks. It is preference overall

I've noticed that I have a slightly longer string on my ProDawg than on my regular sized dams! Must be the extra 5%?!

 

Since I got my first slaydawgs I have been playing with 4 fingers instead of 3

 

Used to be 2 fingers but to level up I go 3.

 

i usually rock just under three fingers any more than that i find certain tricks much more difficult

 

I'll join the 3 fingers club! Any less makes whirlwinds and such impossible. I'm bad at those tricks to begin with
My Crafts have 4 fingers and those slay, so I may be slowly moving towards 4 or 3.5.

 

get some laced kendama stings, they're @laced.kendamas on ig.

 

I play with a 5 1/2 finger string. I know it’s long, but it is great for juggles and slings because the string is less likely to create tension, that leads to accidental yanks. Long string is FUN for lighthouse, lunar, airplane, and stilt because you can try to land multiple flips without having string tension. The only downside in my opinion is that you have to use more force to swing up to Tama grip tricks. In the end, it all comes down to your playing style. *sorry for the long comment* just tryin to help out! Good luck

 

2-finger at least, and 5-finger at most. Anything longer is too unwieldy for me.

 

I've honestly gotten up to about 6 on some damas...

 

My string is like 500 feet. Too short?
