Started playing kendama in January this year and can't get enough of it. I'm stoked to make some kendama edits of my own this summer.

Camera: Canon 70d and GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition
    Lenses: Tokina 11-16mm, canon 18-135mm
Other: Devin Graham signature Glidecam and Rode mic

Awesome film setups! Film is super fun. My wife has a Pentax 645N which I love to mess with. Developing yourself is super cool too, I've never done it personally but have a lot of respect for anyone that does. She sends her stuff off to TheFindLab to develop which is cool because they give you really helpful feedback. It's like having a film coach haha :D

    Yoooo this looks dope!
Could you put like a side by side comparison video, with and without the stabiliser?
If this works out, i'd love to make one for myself!

Hey there! I just thought of getting a camera to film kendama. I'm between choosing an Sony A5000 or a GoPro Hero Session. If I got the Sony I would consider kinda getting into photography.
Which one would be better for filming kendama? Which one would you suggest getting?

The Alpha may be a tad cheaper, but GoPro gives you more versatility in filming (multiple points of view, water resistance, weight).

(EDIT : Did not notice you said Session, instead of Hero Black. So, go for the Sony instead, or i would recommend saving up a bit more for a Hero Black.)

I would get the Sony. Not only does it have really awesome video quality, I'm sure the photo quality is even better. The Session is cool because it is very user friendly and casual, but I think a better investment would be getting the Sony. I also think that its good to get into photography since a lot of the same principles/guidelines apply to both

What do you guys use to make your edits? Specifically cameras as well as editing software? Asking this because I want to take my edit game to the next level by adding some higher quality clips as well as better editing.

Budget friendly suggestions are also welcome!

What are you shooting on/editing on right now? I haven’t really delved into dama edits yet but I do freelance video work a lot these days. Went to film school so I figure I’ve gotta still shoot occasionally right?

Camera: Canon 60D, I normally shoot on my 50mm but I sometimes use a 18-135mm lens if I need a wider shot
Editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro CC

There are some good deals on Amazon, just look up canon camera. something like a Rebel T3i would be good, just off the top of my head.

I like Premiere because its pretty user friendly, and I only have to pay $20 a month to have access to it (and the other Adobe products). A lot of other editors use Premiere as well, like Jake or Cooper. I used to use Sony Vegas Pro 13, its not a bad program either. I got it for the low so it definitely served its purpose.

Phone camera + InShot video editor. Really cheap stuff, but I do want to upgrade at some point in the future so any info would be helpful. :)

It happens. Search is better than it was but you still have to pretty much nail the words used; no AI here.

Majority of the time, I use my iPhone 6s Plus and edit through Splice. When I'm feeling 'fancy,' I shoot using my husband's Huawei Mate 9 and edit with either Splice or export through Adobe Premiere Pro.

When I really intend to shoot and edit videos, I use a DJI Osmo+. It's a gimbal camera and I really like it because it's handy and easy to use. The only downside to the Osmo+ is battery life. I also need to be near a wall plug to keep my battery juiced up because I only have 1 spare.

I am looking for a camera / go pro for under $800, that will be good for pictures and videos, but I know most go pros more specialize in videos, and cameras do both, but if anyone has any suggestions, I am up for 'em!
