hi everyone, hope your having a good day. I just wanted to ask if anyone has a good way to maintain damas, my spike are fine because I tend to glue them but because of that when I miss a hard downspike or something the dent is really noticeable and also my cups go soft really easily. Anyone have any tips (mainly for tamas) thanks!

    Destroy destroy destroy!

If you want to keep your toys absolutely pristine, its actually really easy to do. Put them on the shelf, and never touch them again.
Once you've completed that step, you can optionally become a yoyo nerd, since it is possible to play a yoyo without marking it at all.

If you are a begginer try with ozora or tk16. They are fun.

Don't miss your spikes ;) A dull spike could also help with not denting the tama.

Cups going soft is a good thing! That means it will be honed for birds and other stall tricks.

I've tried both, they are great but what do you recommend for some higher level multiple sling tap and juggles lines.

So I recently may have gotten a really nice natty birch dama. I've heard birch breaks in quite well, but does that also mean its on the softer side? Basically, someone help me decide if I should glue the spike or not. I'm not going to baby it or anything, but I'd like to jam it as long as possible.

@Ben Lowe is the tama birch as well? In my experience birch spikes hold up reasonably well. You may want to glue eventually once it rounds over nicely

Yeah all birch. I didn't want to kill the tama too much with a super sharp glued spike, but maybe that's not what would happen. I do like the idea of letting it round a bit and then gluing! I'll probably give that a try, thanks!
