Err, to be clear, from what I understand they're looking for some people to help judge open as well, I feel like I didn't communicate that well in my other reply.

Yes, I believe they should all fit without issue.

Yeap, I think that will be fine!

@Michael Joseph Reeves We still need the volunteer judges, Alex is a bit more official and will be there to help answer questions beyond what the volunteers might be able to do.
I will be reaching out to everyone who volunteered before the end of this week to let them know if we need their help or not.

Spacewalk in CAN NOT have an extra turn. Most Intermediate and Beginner tricks must be done as written and shown, unless you want to do a swing spike or 1-turn lighthouse. I will say though as I always do, swinging up in a speed ladder is a bad idea, you are wasting precious seconds.

I figured, just wanted some clarification and spacewalk in was the first trick I thought of.
Getting all the judges all on the same page, Open, Freestyle, and ladder judges will definitely help smooth things over as much as possible

When doing around handle stall, would it be acceptable to do this:

big cup, handle stall, small cup, handle stall, nod-off bottom cup, nod-on handle stall, in?

Okay. Question for AM Open. For lightning drop, airplane, does the player have to catch the tama in air plane grip (with the hole facing up) or can the hole on the tama face in any other direction after the catch? (string going under hand vs between thumb and pointer finger when catching the tama)

I hope that made sense, it is a little hard for me to describe what I am asking:confused:

Yeaa, I think thats okay. I'll double check with Sweets, but it seems like the grey-area edge case of an 'almost-nod-off' small hop would push it towards being okay. I mean I think nod-off is perhaps more difficult than the regular tricks.

As long as you catch the tama and the ken goes in airplane without hitting your hand/fingers/whatever, thats fine.
It must be an airplane, and not a stuntplane though.

I think as long as it fits in the KWC box, havent seen any restrictions on materials used to make kens. I’m sure most people would tend to stay away from using REZ kens though, at least in the Open/Am Open and Freestyle divisions due to how easy it’d be to break one on stage.
On a side note, there arent any restrictions on paint afaik. As long as you dont modify your setups during competition, like today the Sweets NAKO Instagram just posted on their story that adjusting string length on stage by wrapping it around your ken is forbidden.

From the sounds of it, I'll be taking on head judge duty again, alongside @Daniel Robinson

So good timing on reviving this thread! Post up any questions you may have.
@KeeganS thanks for the clarification on string length. I'm glad that is the decision Sweets went with.
