Alright, I think this should be a good time to ask about this:
For those of you who were lucky and fast enough to cop a Sweets Kaiju, how does it play so far? Really want to know how a Prime would feel like when it's been upscaled to a Biggie-esque size.

I´m also thinking about buying a craft plus. I already own a craft slim maple and its my absolute favourite dama. Would it be worth it?

BUMP AND BUMP! I want to get a plus sized dama and I feel strangely drawn to the Dave Mateo Plus mod. Anyone with any experience on it, or any input on that vs a Craft Plus (almost twice the price)?

well the sol shapes are a little bigger, I think by about 3%. And then of course the craft plus-sizes. Terra prefects, GT-KA, and GT-BH are the ones I can think of.

@Foxiebonkers and others, turns out there were several related threads which have now been merged here. There are good photo comparisons and comments previously posted so check them out.

Also you might want to check here as well: What size kendama do you play most often?

Mateo Plus is a little bit bigger in each cup (base cup is closest in size) Tamas appear to be about the same but Mateo IS bigger upon further inspection.. the cups sit down farther on the Sol and the sword is longer(longer spike) on the Mateo.. between the handle stall location and ring stop has more space on the Mateo as well..

would a sol vibes tama fit on my craft shift? (not plus) or would the bigger size not fit the ken? i’ve never held a sol shape and was wondering if buying a sol vibes tama would be a good pair (the tama/ken weights would be 83/86)

I think the only problem is the small bevel

How does the new KUSA Dave Mateo pro model play? Any thoughts on the weighting, wood, paint in terms of playability?

I've been playing one, and I'm a fan! Its made in the KenUSA 'slim plus' shape, which otherwise is only available from the Craft lineup afaik. Its a shape I had a lot of input in designing, so I'm a little biased at least. But I think its a great kendama all around, it really feels like Dave took the concepts of his first mod, and improved them in every way.
If you're a fan of mid-size damas, try it out!

It's nice and light for a big boy! 2 wood Ken is super nice. Tama paint durability is the only real downside but I've had much worse. It's a must buy for $40. A truly special and unique piece for sure

I agree with both these statements.. for two wood types and a big boy, mine feels super light.. and yea the paint has chipped and scarred way easier than other silk paints in my opinion.
