Ever since MKO I've been really wanting a t3i rebel, but at the same time I don't know how to operate a DSLR.
So on Black Friday I was looking at cameras and I came across the GX720 Powershot and I fell in love with it, but don't really have the money because I'm broke. If all else fails I really want a camera that can shoot in 60 fps so I can get some nice slow motion footage. Any help is appreciated!

GoPro is a good affordable camera. Plus you can use it for POV shots. The newest one is waterproof without the housing too, so you can put it to other uses besides kendama.

If you want a DSLR, there's way too many options lol. I say go for the T3i, you can always learn how to use it via the Internet

I don't know if this thread already exists but what do you guys use to film? DSLR, GoPro, Phone? Was curious because I'm looking into buying a gopro, headmount, and tripod because I'm tired of using my crappy phone to film, but hey it works for now.

I have a go pro for first person clips but I still need a camera to record other angles with. Any suggestions? 250$ or less preferably. Thanks!

If you have a cell phone or ipod with a decent camera, don't be afraid to use that for regular filming! Believe it or not, most of Jake Wien's old videos were all filmed on his iphone! If you have no good options for regular shots besides the gopro and are set on getting a $250 camera, here's my suggestion. I haven't used either of these cameras, but based on your price range, I think they'd be a good option!

    Camcorder - CanonVXI HF R70 16GB HD

Point & Shoot - Canon PowerShot SX610 HS 20.2-Megapixel Digital Camera

If you're looking to do only video, the camcorder would be a better pick, but if you want the option to take photos as well, the point & shoot would probably be a better option.

This. There are quite a few options to be able to attach your phone to a tripod too, so like Chad said, if you have a decent camera on your phone, you can save up a bit and just get by with that. (I just use my iPhone + GoPro.)

Haha that's cool, didn't know that!

You already have a gopro, i suggest you just use ur mobile phone like one of the previous comments mentioned. You already have a go pro for high quality clips so for another angle u can just use a phone as the quality wouldnt be so bad and would still show an interesting other angle in ur edits

I use Splice on my iphone. Its pretty legit, way more user friendly than the imovie app from my experience

Do you only use iMovie on your iPad? Its exactly the same on the iphone so definitely don't ignore using it on your phone if you know your way around it. Yeah definitely check out Splice too.

I would use it in my phone if i could, better camera quality, but my ipad has more memory than my phone.

Haha I have this problem too. I'm always maxing out my storage on my iPhone, then having to figure out what needs to be deleted to make more space again.

Try to clear out some room, use your iPhone!

Yeah with the quality of smartphone's cameras these days it's more than enough for producing quick and easy content. Throw some lenses on there too and you have some variety as well (shameless plug). My favorite is the wide angle lens for shooting that 'selfie' angle for IG or Snap. I don't know how some of you keep those tricks in frame filming this way without one!

Personally I use Videoshop for editing on an iPhone but will have to check out some of the other suggestions here too!
