Hey DS. I recently copped a ken only birch classic RWB. What are some well-paired woods or some favorite tamas that you guys rock with the ken?

birch goes great with maple and ash (and obviously birch) maple and ash arent as durable as birch, bc for some reason birch can just take a beating but they still pair well. i always recommend nattys but if you go with a painted on i recommend a homegrown tama or mash painted GTs

Find something that is similar in weight (maybe just a little heavier than the ken), and jam away!

There's a whole bunch of possibilities. As someone who has multiple birch kens, I can say that they play really well when paired with a raw ash or walnut tama from Grain Theory. If natties aren't your style, than I would recommend cushion clear from Sweets or silk paint from KendamaUSA since RWB has released complete set ups with those two paint options in the past. You also can't go wrong with Sourmash or Girr.

If you want a lot of tack: Sweets Cushion Clear
If you want a happy medium: Any rubber or silk painted tamas
If you want a natty: GT Raw Ash (the grain's texture is unreal)
If you want something completely badass: Kayadama Tama at kayadama.com
