Since becoming wrapped into the Kendama community and scene , I have plenty of Kendama that I like to practice with, ones that I jam a ton exclusively , and then there's my collection.

I don't have a ton of high valued , historical pieces ( due to finding them or having the funds needed to score them!) But I have taken on more of an easier approach of what I like to collect .

I like to collect pieces from artists that have a special skill to make really awesome works with kendamas . I'd like to see pics of some interesting finds that others may have come across . Not so mainstream maybe or even works that you may not even kow where they may have come from :) share your pics if you have one you think is rare .
    Here's mine ...
I found this at last year's MKO . It was in a box full of Kendamas that were being sold at the KUSA vendor ( with hbishhh driving the sales). It is a KUSA Tribute with a unknown artists' handrawn works on the Tama . I thought it was really sweet snagged it up to add to my collection :) Strange but a really neat piece with a story , if I could find out that part someday ! ;) what have you all found or scored ?? Definitely this one. Sol Magellan Vibe.
The first run of this series were made from elm as opposed to the current maple wood line. I got this as an extra when I ordered a Walnut Stripe Flow from Sol over a year ago, but instead of the rubber/silk paint of the Vibe series this Magellan is painted with primer paint. Was super stoked to have seen this in my package when I unboxed it.
Yet another example of Sol having one of the best customer service experiences in the kendama world.

Among the rarest damas i have in my collection, two of them are from Oozora.

Some of you may not even have heard of the colorway before (just like how i was surprised to hear they made OG whites, waaay before the premium stick ones were sold), and with that, i present to you the OG Mustard, and the prototypical splatter painted Oozora.

These were produced circa 2008, not many of the Mustard were made (probably not popular), and was lucky enough to come across this, from a friend halfway around the world.

IMG_4956.jpg The orange kendama is a hand turned chakte viga from Cascade Kendama . I've bought it now I'm just waiting for it to arrive. Cascade Kendama for all the people who don't know is a really small Canadian company who makes hand turned kendamas usually with cool wood. I do not own the rest of the kendamas in the picture btw

Mine might be this one, after winning this first kendama catches my attention of the Zebra color. And the way I analyze it was like a yin yang which means their will be good and bad thing that will happen to me along in this journey as an individual in Kendama. Sorry for thinking that much when I got it but still I like to progress in this game. :) IMG_20171113_173240.jpg

Custom OG Ozora. Got this as a gift, still don't know who customized it, though. There are the initials "C.M" on the handle. This thing reminds me of the original days of kendama. Sometimes I'll bust this guy out when I need to remember my roots and just see how far dama has come.

I love these rare customs from different members of the kendama community ! Would've loved to score this one myself as I love the design ! I'm also a big collector of hand customized damas from different artists from around the US . Let me know if you see another one of these 20 made for sale guys !! :)

    My Blue Shin Fuji Keyaki!

    1. The grain is amazing.
    2. These things aren't in production anymore since Hakushinaya (Manufactuter behind the Shin Fuji) parted ways with the JKA and has since started producing a non-JKA certified shape.
    3. I strung it up left handed so that i could learn to play switch.
    4. I got it on the low! It was Php 750, or USD 15. You can't go wrong for a decent jammer at that low a price!

Kind of a dumb question, kind of weird , and very unlikely, but were you gifted that at the Minnesota state fair, at the Sweets tent? I recall seeing someone give someone a dama that had that kind of artwork on it a while ago (Around 5 years), long before I was really into kendama. I thought it would be kinda cool if you are the guy who got that dama, the one I saw so long ago.

I ended up giving the Magellan Vibe to Jackson Andrus from Sol to add to his epic Vibe collection during MKO.
I did end up getting a cushion clear Homegrown Maple Larch wood stripe tama from a buddy. This, and 3 other wood stripe maple HG tamas were offered as a D/Tama of the Day drop from Sweets back in 2016. I bought one myself, and now I have 2.

Bought it at my local dama store/ramen shop, @goenKendama.

The Shinfujis were tanks and a great value especially their Keyaki. Hakushinsya's new line, Minna no Kendama, just released a full Keyaki I'm itching to get. I've really enjoyed the RWB Red Elm and Keyaki is in that family.
