I've been considering buying or making a kendama holster recently. Something I can clip on the outside of my bag or a belt loop. I was curious if anyone had bought one they particularly liked or had any experience making one for themselves. I'm thinking about using an old belt and a caribiner if I go the DIY route.

So, anybody using a holster they really like right now? And if you've made one yourself pics would be awesome if you want to share them!

Always wait for a DWI tsuna. They were the first holsters in the dama community and they nailed it. Everyone's come up with different ideas and shapes for the holsters but the Tsunas are hands down the best. I've had mine for about 3 years and it's holding up greats still. I really don't recommend the diy route but try to find the lanyard ones that kengarden did a couple years back.

I have one from @kendamabelts on IG. You can probably make one like his after learning some paracord knots and such

I have a bunch: DWI Tsuna, OG Mugen leather, KNT, KG lanyard, Tamahawk, Krom Kpack,

    - The OG Mugen holster is probably the 'nicest' one I have (it usually leaves serious collectors drooling), but the velcro on it isn't my fave. The quality of leather is amazing though, super thick and soft, you can tell its high end just by the feel of it. Kazuma has made some newer holsters that he released with the Musous... but they look more like some bondage toys than a kendama holster, haha
    Quick pic:

    - Like @Sbermea22 said, the DWI Tsuna is the winner all-around. Handmade, very good quality, great design, it hits all the marks. I've had one for 4+ years and its still legit af. (and I open and close it all the time too, which a lot of people don't do)
Theres a whole video for the tsuna!

    - I also really like the KNT holster, because it has belt loops right on the back of it, meaning it holds the kendama tight to your side, so it doesn't swing around. For that reason, it's my fave design to actually strap a dama onto myself (the others are good for backpacks, etc)
Here is a link to check them out or buy them from GLOKEN

    - Shoutout the tamahawk holsters too, the dudes who make them are from HI, and hooked me up with one long ago. It works well, and lived on my backpack for quite some time. Sweets was carrying them, but their site is down right now so I can't link. Here's a google image:

Also worth mentioning, the first Sweets leather holster was more or less an exact copy of the OG mugen one. Sweets Kendamas launched it, and Kazuma was posting pics on facebook all pissed off. It was some good drama! The new Sweets holster design is rad though, I should probably pick one up for my collection...

Thanks for the input! Seems like DWI's the way to go. Although I like the look of that canvas Tamahawk one. Might have to check those out too

Saw someone make a holster with paracord (which I'm a big fan of). However it was super basic.

First holster my father and I made:

It's a simple Möbius strip design, made out of leather, similar to the ones Sweets sells or at least used to sell.
Thinking about making a few more.

the reason I don't want to get a holster is because it seems that if you walk around with one or run with one your kendama will slip over to the side of the holster like the tomahawk one

Just depends on the design. I had one of the Krom ones and it did that constantly, the Kendama Belts one i have doesn't have that problem.

Yea, I agree. Some of them hold it in there very solidly.

@Giulian Tena thats funny your tamahawk holster does that, mine have always been really solid, as long as I do it up tight. I haven't lost a dama out of it yet!

^^ Okay, downloaded them for you guys. This is the most affordable kendama holster there is:

Make sure you get a carabiner big enough. Works like a charm :)

@Steezdiaz whoa, thats clever, I actually don't think I've seen that before, which is surprising for how simple it is.
I guess the carabiner could sorta dent or mark up the ken, but for a quick fix on a not-super-rare-dama, its perfect

@Steezdiaz I'm surprised you didn't put some slaybands around the ken where the carabiner comes into contact with it to prevent the dents/marks that @htimSxelA mentioned might happen. New product combo? ;)

Haha I definitely though for a split second about padding the carabiners and selling them...but right now I have my hands in way too many future products I can't handle another one. Maybe someday!
