So, of all the different design updates happening like the next gen Homegrown's and Craft Shift, this new Analog design releasing 6/19 looks very nice in terms of price and features.

Here it is on their website - http://www.analogkendamas.com/product/squab-prototype-one

I love innovation, and competition is one of the driving factors for new things. So I get excited when I see something different. The Squab looks like it could be a hybrid of a KROM BL Ken (maybe slightly larger cups on the Squab, and an added lunar balance hole) and a Craft Shift tama; but for $30!!

All in all I'm excited to cop one of these (if possible). Who else is copping one? The concept of including a feedback card is so old school but dope at the same time.

    Cheers

I’m going to wait for other prototypes. This looks amazing, but I think that there will be a better one.

I agree, I'd like some more wood options. But I can't help myself lol. What's worse is I don't have an Analog... and that bugs me. So why not!

Plus, for $30 I can avoid having to buy a KROM KAMO for a lunar hole

KROM Kamos are so overpriced. I’ll just buy a prime radar and drill myself a lunar balance thank you very much. I’ll save myself almost $30 in the process as well.

    Haha! Right!

Side note: The checkout process for the Squab was super easy. Ill report back about how it plays, when it comes in.

I scooped one today! I also don’t own an Analog, and figured this would be a neat place to start. I’m excited to get it. I don’t have experience with many brands or shapes so I figure at worst I get the chance to broaden my outlook, but I think its going to be really great.

My thoughts exactly. Up until 9 months ago, all I had were JKA's and KUSA dama's. Since then I've picked up Primes, HG's, GT's, Krom's just so I could see what I liked from all these newer shapes. This Squab looks dope and its a good price.

I kinda wanted to get this one, but it looks as if kendama progression has been nearing its peak, at least for the time being. Kendamas with larger cups are the new standard:cool:

After I get done doing some feedback on these Squab's, Im going to swap the tama and put it on my Shift ken. Been seeing a lot of people switching to sticky tama's but I want to keep the natty feel of the shift and I think the satin tama will be perfect.

This shape is WILD. Lunars are unreal! Will report more after another sesh lol.

P.S the cups are almost the EXACT same size as the Craft Shift cups, but like a half a mm larger.

I am really digging mine. I did sand the ken a bit to get the cups to sit closer to where I like them. The cups being lower makes slingers a bit harder, but the whole thing is great overall! I hope the paint breaks in a bit tackier.

Nice! I’m hoping the paint breaks in tackier too. The satin is a bit slippery atm.

    How heavy is yours?

Damn! Your's is lighter than mine and I thought mine was light.

68g for the ken the tama is 60.5g. The ken is great but Im going to swap the tama.. its just too light for me. I going to put my Analog Zona ET on it. Will be a beast after the swap.

I thought about swapping to a sticky paint too, but I don't have a Tama laying around

@Uprightman you were spot on about sanding down the ken slightly to let the sarado sit a little more! Lunars sit even better. Nailed a barrel roll (never was able to do) and double lune shortly after I laced the ET tama and sanded it down a bit (and I mean ever so slightly, 2-3mm).

I think this might be my new favorite setup.
