I do. A lot easier to erase than colored pencils if you mess up or are done ;)

Maple, ash is really grainy and makes for a more difficult burn

Here's the kit I got last year. I have zero artistic ability when it comes to drawing etc. so I just stick with putting the tool in a clamp and making rings on the tama and ken. I've been using old CDs as spacers to make multiple lines of even spacing, also read somewhere that a deck of cards works too.

When I get home I’ll take some pictures of the other kens I’ve made.

I did a burn for this jumbo tama as well.
    It’s simple but effective 46328B55-CECA-413E-B16A-B85E9A68DBAF.jpeg 026C094E-CD74-4DB5-B69F-1E40AEFB8DFF.jpeg 4907AEB6-9BF1-4B8F-8582-C9632A7F7C34.jpeg

Putting a line on a jumbo tama. I use old CDs to move the tama up and down the burner stays where it is.
