I tried to find an existing thread on The Sesh, but I didn't find anything.

In your opinion, what is the best "Sticky" clear? I'm not talking about matte clears like Cushion or Silk, but the "gooey" feeling clears like Prime Clear. People might say that they're all made in the same factory, but I know for a fact that not all of them are made equal. If ever, i think the main differences lie in durability and how they wear in.

the clear on the give-a-dama is very durable and has a good grip/slip ratio.

I definitely like the KUSA super stick for stickiest paint, ESPECIALLY the older Tribute super sticks. I know for sure they’re a different paint stick than on the Make Waves pro mod but (and it could just be me) the Tribute super sticks feel way stickier than the newer Kaizen 2.0 super sticks (at least the triple stripe one).

I'm personally a fan of the LOL Clear, especially on the non-Pro Mod Slaydawgs. I don't know why, but it lasts forever.

I haven't played LOL Clear but have played the rest and sticky AF is my favorite by far. It's nuts when broken in and is super durable in my experience. My GT-E1 has taken some heavy concrete slams with class. No chipping and still plays amazing.

I personally like sweets prime clear because that’s what I’ve played the most and am used to. The paint on both primes I’ve destroyed is still sticky and only has a few chips by the tama hole. The LOL clear on my slaydawg is alright. It’s chipping faster than prime clear and I’ve barely used it.

The wood type of the tama also makes a difference. My Fraser pro mod has a beech tama while the slaydawg has a maple tama. I think beech tamas hold the paint a little better. I’ve seen seshed slaydawgs and Krom beams and the paint completely comes off sometimes because the tama is maple.

I like my lol clear best but do agree it chips super easy on my slay dawg, I'd love to try it on a dama with a base coat to see how much more resilient it gets.
I loved my bray mod but now I've had it for a while it's like glass around the bevel where as the rest of the Tama is now gooey rather than sticky which I'm not a fan of :/

The LOL clear on the BDAYs are amazing. The main difference of the BDAY lol clear is that it has a primer coat underneath, so it will not chip as easy as the nihon and pro mods. It also is amazingly sticky

I love both the LOL and DWI but i have to say that the DWI holds up longer on the GT E1 than LOL on the Kamo or Iji Slaydawg

I know I’m being a Negative Nancy for saying this but aren’t most of the sticky paints the same? I mean GT and DWI both use sticky AF but I know for sure GT/DWI, SOL, and Krom, and Sweets? basically use the same paint because they’re coming out of the same factory

Don't really see it as being negative comment particularly if those brands are in fact all coming out of the same factory. Personally I don't know if those you mention are manufactured by one company but remember that just coming from the same place doesn't mean they have to be produced the same way.

Look at the Sweets Custom paints for example, they've had a bunch of them all coming from the same location but they're all different. It is possible that even if several brands come from the same manufacturer overseas that variations in the paint could have been requested just like variations in shape or wood.

(*Negative Nancy, hadn't heard that one before. I may have to steal it. :D )

been playing my sea monster et for 2 weeks and i really like the paint. Out of the box its really sticky and once it gets broken in it gets a bit more slippy , enough to adjust but still a good amount of grip. Only downside is that it already chipped a bit, took a hard fall to the concrete though

Have you played the new KUSA Super Stick? I thing gen 3 or 4.
Original super stick was on prototypes (some people have them)
Next was the tribute super sticks
Kaizen / Pro mod super sticks
Now new SHIFT / SLIM super sticks, supposedly a new formula for better play.

Idk if Sol clear is really just DWI sticky clear or if it's own thing, but Sol's have a great middle point between slick and stick (for being a Sticky boi), I haven't put much time into them, mostly played on some nicely broken-in things that belong to other people. But from what I've played, it makes me want to get one for myself.

(its all about the pro-clear tho:p)
