These Tamas are for sure pro Clear? I have two that I took off initially thinking they felt more glossy than a pro clear..but have kept them Incase they were pro clear Tamas from Sweets to trade or sell off later.. I figured they were cheap no name glossy Tamas that they put on all the mystery Spectra kens that they had in stock

These are the crafts. The bottom one appears to be a prototype. . . IMG_20190513_200525.jpg

Both the ken and sarado pieces have some sort of designation code, and the lefty string hole is upside down. . . Good thing I'm a righty!

Wow u got some gems. Yes def post whatever u end up not wanting to keep I’m sure you’ll end up with most of your $500 back plus some really great rate damas for your collection or to thrash!! That’s why I almost copped a $200 box. Was thinking could sell a couple crafts, hold onto one and another Dama and I’d have my investment back

Anybody have an idea as to what these little beauties might be?
    IMG_20190514_174739.jpg

. . . I'm thinking original sakura damas from the 80's? Seems crazy that KUSA would just give these away if that's what they are?! Any insight would be appreciated!

They are Sakuras for sure, look like the 90's model. They might have made some of these in the 80's but I think these are all the 90's models. If I were you I wouldnt have even opened them hahaha

@Seabass We also have a JKA Kendama thread with a lot of info.

Also @lategreat808 that era seal could have been either Sakura or Fuji. For a while it seems the Milkyway company and Hakushinsya shared it. IIRC that seal started 1992.

There was nothing to open. . . They just came rolled in bubble wrap. I wonder what the original packaging would have been. Maybe just a bag like a lot of the oldschool Japanese damas?

You are correct, but the spike and the slip stop are the indicators of the Sakura for this one

I can't really see it in the pix provided. Here's a comparison of the slipstop area. Is this what you are referring to?

As for the spike area what differences do you see maybe a bit thinner or something else?

What gave it away for me was the tapered tip. The bullet tip is easily spotted while that spiked tip on the Sakura stands out like a sore thumb.

Looking back at the pics, this is 100% a Sakura
