Hey guys just wanted to let you know that we're going to try and set up a bilingual jam series in Tokyo. The goal is to have a place where local Japanese players and any visiting (or local) foreign players can connect either online or in person. Check here for future events: Google Event Calendar We've created a Facebook Page for announcements and a Facebook Group for general discussion. You can get to the Harajuku Kendama Club group from the page's "Visit Group" button. We're hoping to have our first get together next weekend. We're also hoping to have some JKA representation for those who might be interested in taking level tests or learning more about the JKA.
Cool. I'm in Tokyo from 13th December until 3rd January, so if your hosting a jam and I get some time, I'll try and get to one!
@Stuart Barron I'll be in the US from 12/17 but I'm hoping that there will be a few people to keep things going while I'm away. We're hoping to put together 2-3 between now and then to see how things go. The location we have is outside but in an atrium sort of area so it's out of the wind. I'll be posting here as the event days come up.
Pix are up on the HKC FB page. We weren't able to get a lot of shots but we had fun teaching all ages.
Photos are up for the Hanami Jam. It was a bit early still, the Sakura weren't yet in full bloom. We may head out again next weekend just to see if they've really popped yet.
No idea how this is going to work out but we're going to try to have a watch party for the JKA online contest this Sunday starting at 10am JST.
Some updated news: HKC is now connected with our shop in Harajuku. The kendama shop is called MESH.tokyo It's at the same building we used to have our jams. Future jams will likely be in front of the shop now rather than at the building entrance. 東京けん玉ショップ
