Anyone ever played with a Samurai rubber kendama, I'm wondering how the paint feels. I've never played with a rubber kendama and wondering what the samurai is like, thanks!

Adding to his question, how are samurai kendamas in general?

I have not played a Samurai rubber, but I have played a Samurai metallic pink, and it's not that good IMO. The spike is really short, and the string is a bit too stiff for my liking. It's not the worst kendama though. Give it a shot, and maybe it might be your perfect kendama. I believe there are still a few rubber stripe Samurais on Kendama Syndicate's website for $10 or $8.

Honestly not that bad of a kendama. I used to work at the kiosk they were sold at, and we had them out as demos. After they take a beating, the rubber paint breaks in pretty nicely. It feels similar to KUSA silk paint, but maybe on a lesser scale. For $10 (I think they're still $10) its not a bad deal. If you don't like it, you can always gift it to a new player.

The solid paints suck ass though lol, they were really prone to chipping and they barely had any tack when broken in. However, they were pretty good for taps and instas for some reason.

I have one. Haven't broken it in at all. Just a few cup tricks lighthouses and lunars. The rubber tama seems good. The ken has decent balance but is a bit chunky. Great kendama for ten bucks, but i'll probably pass it on and gift it to somebody.

I'm just getting into kendama and I was looking to pick up a TK16 from kendama syndicate but then I saw the $20 super bundle and figured since I'm just starting out I should try to get my hands on as many different types of damas possible. The bundle included a Samurai V3 and a "BLK Kendama OG Samurai Colab Zebrano Ken." I've spent a quite a bit of time scrolling through threads on DS and really haven't read anything about Samurai so I was just wondering if anyone had thoughts or info to share.

They're an "okay" sort of company IMO, but their rubber stripes aren't that bad. There actually is a thread about Samurai kendamas, and I'll try to link it here when I find it.

Great...yeah, it's seems really nice but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. The spectra tamas that came in the bundle are super egged and I don't have any extra tamas.

I would either slap that stripe samurai tama on the BLK or just get a cushion on that badly. I put a cushion on mine recently and it's one of my best hammers. It slays slingers and taps like crazy. I landed my first 5 turn Jay stick on that bad boy. DM me if you want to cop the Zebrano tama that normally comes with it. It's like a 7.5/10

So my local grocery store just put some samurai damas on the shelf and I am looking to buy one. Thoughts on samurai? Do you have a local store that sells damas?

Samarai are ok. They tend to be good for J stick, ken flips and juggles but they lack in the stall department

A samurai was one of my first damas! It was great for everything, like it more than my kaizen at the time. The silk on mine was honestly on par with if not better than a lot of other silk damas I've had. Buy one
