So would you say the lighter the kendama the better it will be to pull off complex stalls and balance tricks while heavier ones are better for catching cup and spike tricks? I've been debating on buying one of those skateply decks! How do you like it!?

I think I read on another thread you are a skater? Do yourself a favor, and get one!! I've got the purple and it's more of a deep maroon than a vibrant "pimpin ain't easy" purple.

A heavier ken gives you more weight to balance (heavier things are easier to balance, generally), but a heavier ken also has more momentum when spinning, meaning if you're doing double/triple flips, you have a lot more weight that you have to slow down in order to catch it again.
No wonder my musou seems so much harder to land tricks on, it's too big for me! From wrist to tip of middle finger my hand is exactly 7 inches long, tricks like underbird are way harder! I just physically can't reach the ring stall. I suppose this supports the argument that kendamas are more fit to the usual Asian hand size... [EDIT] nevermind, I picked up a terra pro mod in the prefect shape and I love it, I think the mugen handles different because it just has a longer sword
Hahah. The last time I used 7.75" was back in 2004, so must have been a while since you skated. The most common width now is 8.25-8.5 for street. You should get back at it, or at least get a skate-ply ken for old times sake
