Is anyone else planning to watch the streams?

I think we'll be setting up in the Terra workshop to watch it on Saturday night. We've done so for C&F before, but this will be the first time I'll be watching KWC from afar :(

We will be hanging out in KDS again this year. I'll have it set to let everyone know when they go live, plus a few more commands to pull the known schedule and other information. If they stick to how they've done it in the past it will be livestreamed on the Gloken Youtube channel

Also... (if any), what are some of your favorite contenders?

I'm really hoping we'll see Missu in the finals again! Might be biased there :p

I think it would be great to see Zack G win it, for the back-to-back brother champ status.
I know Dwesty and ZMags are on the grind this year for it too, so I gotta shout them out! Definitely could be contenders, I know Dwesty was super bummed to (just) miss the cut last year, I don't think that'll happen again.

Thanks! This gives me some guidance of what to check during the event. As a starter I probably enjoy the vibe of the event a ton). :)

If you're staying at Omotenashi hostel, then I have this bit of advice:
Take a cab to the venue in the morning.

You'll probably get a local train pass from GLOKEN, so you can walk down the block, and take a train a few stops, then walk a bit to the venue.
But really, the venue is only like 3km away. A cab is like 1000 jpy (~$10 USD). Split that between a couple people, and you will be able to enjoy AC the whole way to the venue.

Seriously, it makes a big difference not arriving at the venue sweaty after walking up the hill from the train station. If you're in Japan, you know how frickin hot it is. The cab ride is key!

Also, the Omotenashi hostel rents out bikes for like a couple dollars a day.
Its honestly too hot to ride them during the day, but at night they're definitely the play. You can get to a lot of restaurants / 711 with a quick 2-4 km bike ride down the main rode that the hostel is just off of. Its the best way to get around in the evening.

According to their instagram posts. It would appear that group A is starting at 1pm JST which is about 25hrs away from me writing this post. the livestream may go up sooner as there may be an opening ceremony. A schedule hasn't been posted AFAIK

Not sure, but Sunday finals usually starts at 10am Japan time (and that seems like the more interesting bit to watch, but this will be my first time viewing from afar, so we'll see!)

I had it on but couldn’t stay awake the whole time, damn the time difference lol. I watched the recap, but it seems that it doesn’t have the actual playing just the finalist being announced. I am definitely going to watch the finals. Some great players in there.
