Just wondering what tama is best to replace the BH ash tama just cause idk if I’m missing something but it just hasn’t gotten that tacky so looking for something cheap to switch the tama with, or if anyone’s looking to sell just a tama let me know!

Look at the DS Exchange thread here, you might find something.
From what I've seen the Sol Shape and Slaydawg tamas might be a good fit.

For me I just simply use legaxis BH tamas when I wanna play them with a painted tama but I realize it may not be an option for everyone.

The biggest things to consider when replacing a BH tama in my opinion are the size of the tama and the size of the actual tama hole. BH tamas (KA’s too) have a larger diameter hole to compensate for the wider spike. Luckily now most companies have begun to scale up the size of their kens and tamas but most still use a standard sized spike and hole. That said BH spike will still fit in every tama but with less room for error. Also BH cups aren’t soo massive that a regular size tama won’t work or bottom out in them but it still might look and feel small.

Lastly BH’s are almost always somewhere in the 80g-90g range, so if you care a lot about weight, larger tamas give you a better chance of matching it. Good luck!
