Probably just the ken. That was happening to a hickory that I have. I added a drop of super glue on both sides where sarado meets the ken above the string hole. It kept it together.
After I read this, I went and got that questionable Ken, and the cups flew off on a missed downspike fasthands.
Yo take a sticky note. Rip off the stick part. Put it where the sarado slides on. Slide on the sarado. Adds enough material to keep the cups stuck.
Pretty similar since spectra is just thin layers of birch glued together. Another reason why I like birch, breaks in better for me
