Leave it to soak in for a few hours then wipe throughly with a dry towel. Then let it sit overnight to soak in. You should be good. You probably applied too much. I like to apply with my thumb and pointer finger to avoid this issue. Also extends to use of your kenditioner. I was able to do 150+ damas with one can of sweets fyw conditioner using this method. Just be sure to wash hands well before and after.
