Every time I try and do bird the tama always comes up to the side, I've been pulling it straight up and catching it at its highest point at where it falls. People tell me to just pull it straight up but it just doesn't work. Can someone please link a helpful bird video or give me some tips
What I used to do is just give the tama a very very small spin so it comes up straight and catch it lightly
When I was learning birds I found it very helpful to pull up and then a little bit away at 12 o'clock to land it. Take a look at the thumbnail for the video above. The bevel is at about 5 o'clock stalled meaning that it's not exactly straight when it lands, and that little pull at 12 will help you with that. YMMV, but that certainly helped me a bit!
Kendama Bumpers help for landing bird and other stall tricks. Once you get used to landing the trick using the Bumpers just pop them off to try it normally.
