Im looking for a new dama and I already own a few next gen HG. Its my favorite shape but i’ve also never owned a sticky dama. So i’m looking for something similar to the slim shape with sticky paint. Help me out!

You got any particular price point you're looking to stay within? I haven't played a next gen HG but based on pictures the new shift shape from KUSA looks pretty similar. You could get one with superstick here:

DWI V2 kens are some of my favorite shapes as well and Sticky AF is the best sticky paint in the game hands down. He's got a bunch of awesome damas for sale right now:

The DWI V2s are great kendama but I cant say they are close to next gens. Next Gens have bigger cups and a fatter handle. Honestly, I feel the 6th year Krom Bdays play a lot like next gens...slightly bigger but a similar shape. The Prime shape is pretty close but I feel they aren't as short and stout as the Next Gens.

Also, the Ben Herald mods are fairly similar to the Next Gens

If you want the shape closes to a Next Gen, but not a Homegrown ; you want to get a Prime.

That really is your best option, especially if you get an ash ken.

Because the ash prime and the ash HG feel like the exact same wood. I feel like ash is very consistent, even with varying sources.

Kenditioner is a must for ash kens. Mine never chip when they are well kenditioned

What do we think about kenditioner on tamas? Specifically raw ash? I have a gtbh that I broke in then kenditioned and it looks good and still plays very well. Does anyone else kendition tamas?

Hey guys let's see if we can't get this thread back on its original topic.

For those interested in wood finishes/treatments there are other threads out there covering it. Start here for more info:
