Agreed. I don't think there are many people with 4 grand sitting around waiting on damas. Haha I do think it's a bit on the expensive side.
Oh, they definitely are. It's dumb how people try and resell damas at a higher price than retail no matter how seshed it is.
Yea that makes no sense to me. I also saw a hongboots spec. Ken only for $170. I mean that's crazy expensive compared to what I paid for mine and it came with a dope tama. But I guess people pay it or they wouldn't put it out there. Idk.
I can understand some actually going up in value like OG Mugens and other rare stuff like maybe Sourmash painted damas from like 3 or 4 years ago (however long he's been in the game). But for these GTs, honestly I'd say most you could ask for them would be at or just below retail if the condition is as the pictures show.
I saw this on ebay and literally did a spit take. You can buy a used car (not a great one) but a used car for that amount of money, whoever picks that lot up has got to get their priorities straight.
Ehh, If you hold onto a fresh dama for a year+, I wouldn't sell it for retail price. I'd definitely up the price when reselling, but not by nearly by 100%. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is definitely a market to sell your damas for more money than you bought them at, but not quite that much of an up-sell. Rarity definitely ups the price. I have all 3 luzus fresh, and I'm not planning to re-sell them at sticker value, I'm going to get more for them than I originally paid.. or at least hope too eventually.
It’d definitely depend on the dama. You wouldnt be able to sell a Kaizen or Pop for $10+ over the retail price after a couple months. Luzus I can see going for a good price equal to or above since they’re such rare runs. Same with old Girrs, especially some of the really popular KenCo runs.
Agreed, I'd judge it on how often someone says they're looking for one. I have seen several "ISO RED LUZU" posts on exchange in the past couple months, which leads me to believe their value will only appreciate. Especially if I keep the whole set together-unplayed.
Are they still up? hahaha It's different if they're just trying to get rid of stock and actually trying to make money.
If they are trying to get money for damas they didn't sell, then it's alright, but I think that's the case. I checked on Google, and they're permanently closed. They should still be able to ship out these damas. I think @lategreat808 ordered some BLKs off of them and he still received them.
This guy might actually get what he’s asking even though it’s insane. There are many hobbyists/collectors with extra money to burn, and kendama is relatively cheap. This guy isn’t trying to offer a good or even reasonable deal to the general public. He’s looking for that one loaded person that’s into kendama, think young urban professional in technology. Someone young who works as at some dotcom or tech company and makes 6 figures is gonna buy expensive toys. Judging by the high price the guy is selling it, he’s probably the collector, therefore he values them more than their actual retail value. So it’s unlikely he’s desperate to get rid of them. They look immaculate, so the dude has patience. He’s also located in San Bruno where the cost of living is about 25% higher than most of Cali which is already higher than the vast majority of the country (deep pockets). $3500 to him might be as reasonable as $250 is to the rest of us.
Didn't think of it like that. You may be right. But nevertheless, 3500 big ones is a nice chunk of money to most people and ill applaud him if he gets what he is asking.
I think the bundle would only be worth that price if there were some pro mods in there, and then it’s still overpriced
