In the yoyo community there is a hashtag on Instagram called #trickcircle. This is used when you post a trick that you've been working on during the week. I thought it'd only be fair for us to have one as well. I haven't seen one made just for Kendama tricks, so let's make one. I personally nominate #Kencircle *Obviously it's a suggestion, but give some ideas out and the most liked ones will be chosen to be put in a future poll so we can all decide what we want*
I don't understand the "circle" part of it. Am I just being dense? Also, is this meant to be a weekly post or just whenever? One thing is that I feel like yoyoers hit a new trick in a different way than a kendama player chases a trick if you know what I mean. Once you learn a trick on yoyo it is a lot easier to replicate. Makes the whole thing feel different to me somehow, but I can't put my finger on the exact reason. Not to be a negative nancy or whatever, just curious and continuing in the discussion. I think it is a great idea to make community hashtags for encouragement, practice, etc. Very cool!
I understand your point and trust me that it's not negative. I guess the circle part can be taken loosely. It started as a small community thing so players can "pass around" the spotlight and kinda show off what they've been working on during the week. Does not have to be weekly though. I know that I post mine scarcely hehee.. Throwers do hit tricks a bit differently but the main idea is still there: work on something, show it off Feel free to give more recommendations, Ben!
What about adding to it, or even a second hashtag with the actual date range or week number? Hashtags are cool because you can search them and a bunch of posts pop up. But what if you could look back in a year and see what everyone's #weeklylace (or whatever we want to call it) was for the 3rd week of March (for example)?
That seems kinda tough to keep up with.. or maybe it's just how I understand it. Elaborate a bit on it, like give some examples
I like this idea! Like stated before it doesn't have to be a weekly thing it's a trick you've been chasing something that you've seen or had an idea about. Maybe something like #chasedlace The idea is showing progression and sharing it with the fam! We all have those trick that drew us to kendama and it feels so good to get them when we do. Even more so then a first t or a new trick by itself if you know what I mean! Or #lacedthechase
This would be cool too if we just have a common tag And I'm just using my example #lacedthechase051217 Adding month date and year in that order
@ChrisP.Damahead @Ben Lowe I see where you both are coming from and I like the idea. The downside I see is a separation of posts. What if I go to a week and only one person posted? I'd say to have to have one hashtag so our videos and pictures can stay together. We will vote on it though
Just throwing pasta on the wall to see if it sticks : - #spikedit - #spikechase - #spikecircle - #laceoftheday - #nailedit
