@MattSweets made a vid on Youtube on sharpening your kendama spike, but sand paper sounds like a lot better of an option unless it's just flat and the "spike" is completely gone.
So I have absolutely torn up the spikes on some of my kendamas, as it is bound to happen, but does anyone have a good easy fix to make them "pointy" again. I've tried using sandpaper on the first kendama I ever bought cause it was really cheap and I didn't care about messing it up but I just can't seem to get a good straight spike. I don't really care if it's completely pointy again but the ones I have that need fixed are completely flat. Any tips/tricks/or just how to fix a dull spike in general?
There's already a thread about this: https://www.downspike.com/threads/spike-fix.1461/ @goenKendama However, I don't see any problems with having a dull spike. If anything, it just makes border balances easier. If you're going for longevity, then I would use a pencil sharpener and sharpen it at an angle to reduce the chances of the spike getting too short and oddly-shaped. After that, 2-3 layers of spike glue should be able to keep it sharp.
@SumerDama Yep @James Hoang is correct we already had a similar thread running so yours has been merged. In case you missed the announcement we have a brand new Search function that hopefully will help you guys find the existing threads you might need.
