I know spinning the tama for a pull up spike is considered a bit tacky, but I've noticed a couple of people putting a spin on the tama for juggle downspike related tricks.
I'm learning juggle downspike today and I've realized putting a spin made it a lot easier. Personally I think it looks way better without the spin but it's really hard to be consistent with for me. Where do you stand on this matter, how do you like ur jug ds's?

The spin itself is not an easy thing to master, so there's pros and cons to each.
Most times, if i'm just going for a juggle DS, i'll spin, but if i wanna add a fasthand to it, then learning how to spike sans spin might be better.
    YMMV.

I use it for some tricks, but not always for swap downspike.

I would use it for lightning drop swap (tama)kneebounce downspike, but I wouldn't use it for lightning drop swap spike.

    Exactly.

If you can control the ball, you don't need to spin it ever.
For juggle downspikes, I never spin the tama. Yes it is hard without the spin, but it gets easier overtime. You just have to practice. Its not going to be easy at first.
