I've been thinking to buy one of those. Its cheap and i heard keyaki is a awesome wood so what do you think? Is it worth and how good is a keyaki kendama? And should i glue the spike?
The new TK16 by Gloken? Do it. Keyaki is a great wood and the TK shape is really good. I’d suggest gluing the spike but that’s my personal preference
I second that. Keyaki is a great wood...if you have never had a keyaki ken before then this would be a good place to start. The Keyaki Ozora is SUPER nice but it will cost you a little more.
Thanks,i heard that keyaki looks really good is that true? I will buy it,now im gonna buy a oase legend mod im from Romania and im going to buy his legend model for what he done in Romania if it wasen't him i would never start kendama.
The grain on keyaki is great, it has a fairly nice contrast that helps you track better than say maple or beech. Every new keyaki I have gotten it fairly slick out of the box and they take some work to get broken in but when they do they are SUPER nice. I wouldnt super glue the tip on a keyaki though because the spike tips last a long time compared to most other woods. I would let it round out a little and then make your decision. I prefer a bullet tip on my kendamas so I always wait a good while before applying glue.
