Can anyone give me the ken only length for some of the larger kendama out there? I only have a Terra Prefect @172mm and Sol Flow @168mm.

I got a Terra Pro Mod and it had made a substantial difference in my beginner kendama game... versus standard size kendamas. My hands are bigger and don’t completely grip my Kaizen 2.0 and Krom Pro Mod. The damas I own in the 75g range are too light and I constantly over-rotate them. but with a larger, heavier dama I can Instinctively get it on the spike and make the 1-turn lighthouse land on the tama a lot of the time.

Using a standard sized kendama was like learning how to surf on a short board, way more responsive and harder to catch the wave... the bigger size is easier to see, grip and more forgiving.

I've got a micrometer lying around somewhere I'll try and find tonight. Would be cool to know those lengths and have some kind of comparison chart.

I mainly play damas with a bigger tama these days. I find the length of the ken doesn't matter to me nearly as much as the tama size. I have a hard time playing Primes now because the tama feels so small compared to pretty much everything I'm jamming nowadays.

This is research for some contest rules I've run across. They limit the ken length to 170mm so I wanted to know what falls within that measurement.

Update: Got some info from DerHerder over on KDS
    LBB ~ 6 7/8" - 175mm

    Boost ~ 6 3/8" - 162mm

    Sumo ~ 7 1/2" - 191mm

    Shift ~ 6 3/8" - 162mm

    KA ~ 6 9/16" - 167mm

    Stodd 2.0 ~ 6 1/2" - 165mm

    BH ~ 6 5/8" - 168mm

    Squab C ~ 6 9/16" - 167mm
